The MIDL dataset is built from measurements provided by the ACE, DSCOVR, WIND, and SOLAR-1 spacecraft teams. We thank the ACE MAG (Smith et al., 1998) and SWEPAM (McComas et al., 1998) instrument teams, the DSCOVR magnetometer and Faraday Cup instrument teams (Loto'aniu et al., 2022), the WIND MFI (Lepping et al., 1995) and SWE (Ogilvie et al., 1995) instrument teams, and the SOLAR-1 MAG instrument team for making their data publicly available. ACE and WIND data were obtained from NASA's Coordinated Data Analysis Web (CDAWeb). DSCOVR and SOLAR-1 data were obtained from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). MHD-propagated data products were generated using the BATSRUS code (Tóth et al., 2012), developed at the Center for Space Environment Modeling, University of Michigan.

Merging MIDL with IMP-8

Merge MIDL L1 data with external satellite sources to achieve multi-source quality in the 1998โ€“2004 ACE-only era. Demonstrates downloading IMP-8 data from CDAWeb, propagating to a common position, merging with midl.merge(), and propagating the result to 14 RE.
